WORKSHOP
Hotel real estate – an asset class untapped by institutional investors in Africa?
Africa received more than 67 million tourists in 2018 by growing at a rate of 5%-6% per year. The hotel supply and demand dynamic on the African continent creates little known real estate investment opportunities.
In sub-Saharan Africa, adequately structured hotel real estate can provide investors with stable returns, cash revenues and decorrelation with other asset classes (stocks, bonds, private equity etc..) thereby enabling them to diversify their investment portfolios.
The objective of this workshop is to explore the asset class, the investment vehicles and possible returns and to highlight the underappreciated potential for institutional and private investors.
