Key trends transforming the current Hotel Investment landscape

Réda Faceh, Vice President Development Northern & Western Africa, AccorHotels sharing his insights on the Francophone African market ahead of FIHA 2019.

Reda's career with Accor started in 2001 and Reda has had the responsibility of defining, deploying and managing the sales strategy of Accor Morocco from luxury to economic segments during 8 years as Country Sales Director. As VP Development from 2014, Réda is responsible for the development of AccorHotels brands from luxury to economic segments in Northern & Western Africa. From 2018, Reda has also been appointed as Board member of the joint-venture SIEHA which develop as investor Ibis & Novotel in Algeria (7 hotels under operation).


FIHA: In your opinion, what key trend is transforming the current Hotel Investment landscape and how?

REDA: We could observe the emerging of a regional middle class and the development of a domestic market in some countries. Also, the impact of the digital media on the booking behaviors and the development of the accessibility through the increase of direct flights - open sky in some countries, the rise of low-cost carriers in some region.

FIHA: How is the future of hospitality in the Francophone going to be different from what it is today?

REDA: The development of Lifestyle, Extended Stay and Branded Residences will have a great impact on the future of hospitality in the region.

FIHA: Please tell us a little bit about what you look forward to discussing at FIHA 2019?

REDA: I look forward to discussing the new development approaches with branded residences solutions and what are the development opportunities in the region.

FIHA: How do you benefit from being a part of FIHA 2019?

REDA: Through FIHA we will be able to get more visibility for AccorHotels and our brands. We also look forward to meeting new hotels investors and exchange the latest information with hospitality experts

FIHA: What are you looking forward to the most at this event?

REDA: The first benefit that I’m looking for is to meet new hotels investors.
